I first found this quaint little hideout when I was googling places to go to for good pies. The entrance is so adorable and welcoming I had to feature it. The staff there are super friendly and actually introduced each and every one of the pies to us. They not only offer dessert pies but also have a menu for savoury pies like Prawn & Salmon Quiche. Not to mention, they do not charge service charge nor GST, which I’m a huge sucker for!
What I Had
I ordered 3 slices (could have ordered more) , Camp Symmetry ($8) , Honey Macadamia ($7.50) & Grasshopper ($7.50). The Grasshopper is a fresh mint cream and dark chocolate pie topped with a salted cookie crumble while the Honey Macadamia is a pie with a baked sponge, honey glaze, whole macadamia nuts and finished with an amazing cream cheese frosting.
The Camp symmetry was THE most interesting with a white chocolate ganache, topped with white truffle infused cookie streusel and finished with candied thyme and a meringue mushroom. This one definitely tickled my taste buds as the flavours blended together. Never thought truffle would be infused so well in dessert!
What I Loved
Apart from the fact that they don’t charge GST & service charge? Ok in all seriousness, how often do you glance upon places that specialise in making pies? You come across maybe coffee houses that offer a range of cakes and what not but this place CREATES their own flavours with innovative ideas and fresh concepts. The whole idea of artisanal pies is so unique and distinctive, I can’t help but wander back for more.
