Hatched

The Spot

I had heard about an egg themed cafe that sold all day breakfast, so naturally, I had to check it out for myself. The entire place is decorated with egg mascots and egg related ornaments. From poached, scrambled, boiled or even an omelette, their menu serves literally every form of egg you could ask for!

What I Had

Having come around brunch, I ordered 3 dishes. The Philly, Papillote and Sir Benedict.

The Philly ($14), was strips of steak wrapped in an omelette blanket, complimented with onions and topped with cream cheese. I have never had steak in my omelette so this was definitely a real savoury treat!

Sir Benedict ($19) was quite a popular choice mainly because the eggs were poached, and were served on an English muffin with ham, bacon and topped with hollandaise sauce. Being, poached eggs, half the satisfaction was slicing into the egg and watching the yolk trickle onto the muffin. This, although, quite a mouthful somehow managed to balance out the flavours with the mash and salad.

The Papillote ($16) was my favourite. It was smoked salmon and scrambled eggs served on toast and plated with sautéed potatoes. Who would’ve thought salmon would go so well with eggs? Definitely a stand out for any salmon lover.

What I Loved

Anyone who is an egg lover would love this place. The variety of dishes they serve will leave you spoilt for choice! Plus, their staff are THE friendliest and are always checking up on you to see if you’re ok which really shows the effort they go to to keep their customers happy.
