Charlie’s Corner is mostly famous for its Fish & Chips but what most people don’t know is that they have a wide selection of fine ales, lagers and spirits. The location is situated not too far away from Changi beach, near the bus interchange and the food market.
What I Had
Of course, I had to have Charlie’s Famous Fish & Chips ($12.90) together with a Ribeye Steak (17.90) and a Rootbeer Float ($4.90).
Charlie’s Famous Fish & Chips was surprisingly delicious! I often don’t like Fish & Chips because they are always so oily but this one was so light yet super tasty. Served with a side of fries, coleslaw and a tangy tartar sauce, this certainly lived up to its hype.
The Ribeye Steak served on top of mashed potatoes and seasoned veggies were full of goodness. At such an unbeatable price, the meat is so tender and bursting with flavour. The mash potatoes were so buttery smooth and fluffy, it balanced out the flavours perfectly.
What I loved
The al fresco dining coupled with the faint scent of salt in the air really gives you that laid back, chill ambience. Nothing like having a cold beer after having a hearty meal here. This surely is the place for a late night romantic dinner followed by a walk along the beach or to simply unwind with good old friends over a fine ale.
