The Spot

Right on the rooftop of People’s Park Complex in the smack of Chinatown is a hidden gem. Hiding behind their distinct entrance is a whole world of street tapas food and a unique array of craft beers. The very IG-worthy noshery is perfect for impressing a date or anyone with a passion for beers.

What I Had

Having read “Beer Batter Softshell Crab” with Sambal Tomato pasta ($19), I was immediately sold. The dish was a pretty refreshing with its unique twist on the usual softshell crab pasta dish. The sauce was neither too spicy nor too sweet while the crab was not at all oily and still managed to be crunchy. All in all, rather satisfying.

Still on the same page, having the Slipper Lobster & Crab Ball Tom Yum pasta ($18) was equally fulfilling with its creamy consistency and full-of-flavour sauce. The crab balls were small yet heavenly, having said that, I secretly hope they start selling them separately as a tapas dish entirely on its own.

What I Loved

The remoteness of its location along with the grafitti-strewn shutter door only brings a sense of  seclusion that not many joints can afford to offer. Not to mention, they operate all the way till midnight on fridays and saturdays making this the ultimate lepak spot for anyone looking to escape the hullabaloo of the average scene.
