The Boiler

The Spot

This secluded diner surrounded by office buildings and factories was such a surprising find for me. In a place where you’d mostly find coffee shops and hawker centres, the Boiler was right along side. Their menu offers the crazy popular ‘bombdiggity bag’ which is basically a whole bag of seafood goodies. Amongst other options, they have a whole list of amazing dishes with their very own unique twist.

What I Had

Just thinking of the luxurious Linguine Crispy Prawns with Ebikko ($13.90) has me craving it. The creamy garlic parmesan sauce perfectly compliments the crispy prawns leaving you wanting more.

The Boiler’s Ultimate Burger ($14.90) made up of a juicy quarter pounder, thick BBQ sauce, onion rings and lettuce makes each bite practically sinful.

Spaghetti Bolognese Meatballs ($9.90) was pretty ordinary though the generous portion was pretty impressive.

I’m usually not a fan of this, but the Signature Fish & Chips ($12.90) really did tickle my fancy. The lightly battered fish was anything but oily and came along with a side of tangy tartar sauce.

Boiler’s Chicken Rice Bowl ($9.90), a healthier option for others, entails a generous portion of grilled chicken with buttered rice and a plentiful helping of veggies.

St Louis Style Ribs ($19.90) served with a side of fries and coleslaw, was smoky and full of flavour. Not to mention, their homemade spice mix really gives this one a special kick!

Nothing beats a good dessert to end the meal, but this little Chocolate Molten Lava Cake ($9.90) has stolen my heart! Served with a wafer, the lava cake literally melts in your mouth and even cures depression (JUST KIDDING). But in all honesty, the black horse here is the scoop of ice cream that comes along with! I detected a hint of almond/pecan but either way, it is the perfect match.

What I Loved

The diversity offered here is truly spectacular. Often restaurants with ‘crab in a bag’ on the menu solely offer diners variations of the same combo or simply add-ons of different items. But here at The Boiler, apart from that, there is a whole menu to whet your appetite. Simply put, wholesome, delectable food that will scintillate your taste buds.
