Craftsmen Specialty Coffee

The Spot

Upon visiting the Novena branch, I realised there were in fact, two other outlets for this charming little noshery. The ambience on its own is enough to lure the curious passersby in the vicinity. The highlight, however, is the all-day breakfast spread which is perfect for brunch-lovers. What’s more, there is no GST nor service charge.

What I Had

3-Tier (Mild Spicy) Brioche ($15), shaved ham, cheddar & mozzarella cheese, 2 eggs, fresh avocado, a side of fresh salad and signature sauce.  For those looking for a quick bite for brunch, this was light yet filling. Not to mention, the signature sauce is indeed savoury complimenting the dish perfectly.

The Softshell Crab Burger ($18.50) was my ultimate favourite. Who would think such a burger even existed? Accompanied with a slice of pineapple and topped with pomegranate seeds (unusual but delightful!) this was thoroughly satisfying.

I couldn’t help but order this beautiful Salted Gula Melaka Waffle ($15) amongst other waffle options. The buttermilk waffle was literally drenched in salted gula melaka and was topped with fresh strawberries, blueberries, and chopped nuts accompanied with a generous scoop of sea salt caramel ice cream. THE prettiest IG-worthy waffle!

Of course, I had to taste for myself what a Craftsmen Speciality cuppa was like. This Latte ($4) served with a cute lil bite of dark chocolate, was a pretty rich roast with a great body which is just how I like it.

Craftsmen have a good spread of in-house cakes including Lemon Meringue and Red Velvet but this Roasted Smores Chocolate Cake ($7.90) caught my eye. Having roasted marshmallows on a slice is indeed heaven. In fact, the chocolate layer complimented it so well without being too sweet!

What I Loved

The effortlessly stylish yet cosy ambience really sets the mood for a good book and a cuppa. What sets Craftsmen apart, however, is the simple and wholesome dishes they offer that is both affordable and delectable for both the brunch-lover and the devoted foodie.
