Cornerstone

The Spot

For years I’ve walked right past this eatery in Bishan Park after a long day of running or jogging and this time I finally popped in for dinner. I even brought along my little paw-pal! Gladly, this is a pet-friendly restaurant which is super convenient for those looking for a quick bite after spending the day with their furry ones.

What I Had

I always love a good Pulled Pork Sandwich ($17). This one is a pork shoulder slowly roasted to fork-tender, shredded, and mixed with BBQ sauce. Served along with fries, this was definitely worth it.

Being a seafood lover, I got the Mussels Pot ($18) which essentially is Scottish mussels in a DEVINE white wine cream sauce, served with surprisingly tasty toast.

The Best Ever Burger Double ($22) definitely struck a chord with my little brother as he horsed down every last bite. The homemade minced beef patty is topped with cheese, crispy bacon strips, and served along with fries to whet any appetite.

The Country Style Slow Smoked Beef Brisket ($25) was my favourite! The brisket is served with red wine veal sauce and mixed green salad. Not to mention, the homemade mashed potato it comes with is truly heavenly.

This Gourmet Sausages ($15) platter came with 3 different sausages types for bratwurst lovers, great for sharing!

Oxtail Stew ($24) which is an old-school classic, is slow-stewed for 36 hours. The dish served with onion bread was both palatable and savoury, though the serving portion isn’t one for the famished.

For dessert, I got the BOMB Alaska ($15) which is a chocolate and strawberry gelato coated in a delicious meringue and flambéed with brandy right before your eyes! For those who enjoy a little after-dinner entertainment, this is for you. Though I wouldn’t count this as one of their best desserts.

What I Loved

The ambience here is absolutely amazing especially since there is both indoor and outdoor seating. During the day, it oozes brunch vibes or friendly get-togethers with loved ones. But when the sun sets, you get a chill, laidback hangout perfect for those with pooches.
