If you are the type of person to ogle at portions of meat served up on TV in America, this is the place for you. This authentic all-American smokehouse and grill specially slow-cooks its meats all day to guarantee you a juicy, tender and smoky serving of your favourite meats. They even proudly create their own sauces to go along with each dish!
What I Had
For starters, we got the Spicy 12 Piece Buffalo Wings ($20). For those who don’t have a tolerance for spice, don’t fret, the wings come in mild, regular, spicy, and extra spicy to cater to your varied tastebuds. Personally, I didn’t find the spicy wings too hot and felt quite comfortable with the heat, so if you love spicy stuff, get them in extra spicy instead.
As the name implies, the Monster Burger ($30) served with fries essentially is a beastly serving of a JUICY beef patty topped with smoked beef chilli, smoked bacon, double cheese, jalapenos, tomatoes, lettuce and of course, BBQ sauce.
They offer heavenly pairings of meats for those who would rather share their portions. I, of course, got the 1/2 Baby Back Ribs with Chicken Leg Combo ($33) which came along with a side of fries and coleslaw. Both the chicken leg and ribs were generously slathered in their speciality BBQ sauce which of course blended in effortlessly together with their respective homemade marinades.
Served with fries and coleslaw, the Southern-Style Smoked Fish with tartar sauce ($19) was not at all like your average Fish n Chip dish. In fact, the white fish fillet is corn meal crusted and pan-fried to a crispy golden brown. Light and flavourful, definitely a yummy option.
The Prime Beef Brisket ($27) served with a side of fries and coleslaw as well, was succulent and tender, not to mention the BBQ sauce complimented the slabs of meat perfectly.
What I Loved
Besides the heavenly aroma of smoked meat, the lovely ambience of the joint is what draws most people in. Not to mention they stream rugby matches by the bar and throughout the smokehouse, for those avid rugby fans to catch over a pint or two. Prices here are definitely on the steep end which I assume is due to the more affluent neighbourhood but the experience is for sure a must.
