Tucked away in the neighbourhood mall, Thomson Plaza is a hidden gem. After noticing how queues started to build right around dinner time, I finally took the opportunity to try it out for myself. The sushi bar serves up fresh sushi, sashimi and even delectable rice bowls!
What I Had
What you get with the ever so popular Bara Chirashi Don ($12.80) is an assortment of cubed seafood including salmon, tuna, octopus, shrimp, and fish roe over a sushi rice mix. Affordable and filling, this bowl will leave you thoroughly pleased.
The Glazed Duck Don with Onsen Egg ($14.80) was equally yummy. The glaze paired with the juicy, smoked duck, and the runny yolk complimented the sushi rice mix so well. Yet another wholesome dish for the soul.
What I Loved
With so many places popping up with the ever so popular Japanese rice bowl, it is hard to find one spot with affordable dishes that hit both the sweet spots of your palate and wallet. Though the platters and sushi plates are a tad bit pricey, you definitely do get bang for your buck with all the seafood being super fresh. Side note: do arrive early to queue for a table as they do fill up quite fast!
