Cafe Iguana

The Spot

Going old school for this one. I remember being a kid, passing by this cool lookin place with a huge lizard for its logo and now in my 20’s I love patronising Iguana for its music and great liquor promos. For those who don’t always appreciate blaring music, this one’s for you.

What I Had

For starters, we got the Quesadillas ($15). You can choose to have yours with either cheese, cheese & mushroom or cheese & poblano chillies along with the grilled chicken.

These soft flour tortillas were loaded with gooey cheese, mushrooms along with savoury chunks of grilled chicken.

Next up, the Sabroso Chicken Soft Taco ($21). These handmade corn tortillas are served with shredded cabbage, lime cream, spicy salsa, cheese, borracho beans along with yummy Mexican rice. We got these as an alternative instead of something heavier, but boy did this fill us up! The flavours intermingle so well with each other, leaving your palate thoroughly contented.

What I Loved

There are very few places in Singapore I trust to do justice to authentic Mexican food. That too with such a lively, enthusiastic atmosphere, the Iguana definitely makes my list of favourite chill spots. My girlfriends and I didn’t even realise how much time had gone pass until the waiter informed us they were closing with all the margaritas in our system! For sure, will be back for more.
